Robin Thicke has spoken out about his spiral into painkillers and alcohol abuse after fame became too much for him to handle.
The 43-year-old singer said that he struggled to cope with the "whirlwind of fame" that followed his hit song Blurred Lines in 2013.
Robin admitted "I was in a bad place" at the time and it contributed to the break down of his marriage to actress Paula Patton.
Speaking to People, Robin said: "My marriage to Paula was crumbling. I started using painkillers. It was a melting pot of trouble brewing, and I was so arrogant that I thought I could handle it all." Robin and Paula had been together for 21 years, and were married for nine before Paula filed for divorce in 2014.
