Roberto Firmino has found goals hard to come by at Liverpool in recent months. Firmino is yet to find the back of the net so far this season having failed to hit double figures in the Premier League for the first time last season.
But he has got back amongst the goals on international duty, scoring twice for Brazil in a 5-0 win over Bolivia at the weekend.
Much has been made of Firmino’s role as a deep-lying striker for the Reds as a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s system. Against Brazil, he has been given freedom to ignore Klopp’s instructions to drop back and instead focus on getting in the box.
And he suggested that was a key factor in him finding the back of the net more as he admitted he sees benefits of both roles.
