Robert Pattinson‘s Batman will not be part of James Gunn‘s DC Universe.Since Gunn took control of DC Studios as co-CEO – and director of the upcoming Superman film – fans have been clamouring for Pattinson’s version of Batman to be incorporated into Gunn’s DC universe. However, Gunn has now eliminated all possibilities of that happening.

At a recent press event, per Screen Rant, Gunn said when asked if Pattinson would be included in his DC slate: “It’s certainly not the plan.”Gunn’s co-CEO Peter Safran offered more of an explanation, sharing that while they “love” Pattinson’s take, they’re focused on introducing their own version of Batman in the upcoming film The Brave and The Bold: “We love him, but we’ve got to introduce a Batman into the DCU.

It’s imperative. That’s the plan for The Brave and the Bold.”Safran also added that DC Studios is “in very active development on The Brave and The Bold, and that story’s also coming together very nicely” and “we’ll have more on that for you very soon.”Pattinson has so far only portrayed the Caped Crusader once, in Matt Reeve’s acclaimed 2022 film The Batman. In December, Warner Bros.

announced that the much-anticipated The Batman 2 had been pushed back another year, with a new release date of October 1, 2027.
