Like millions of other people all over the country, Val Savage, the mother of football star and Mirror columnist Robbie Savage, is self-isolating.
Val, 71, now a Radio 5 Live celebrity thanks to her no-nonsense appearances on Robbie’s shows, talks us through her second week of being holed up at home, separated from her family and friends.
Lockdown is playing havoc with my emotions. This week, my second in isolation, I’ve felt every feeling there is. Mostly, I’ve been overwhelmed by people’s kindness.
My chiropodist called and said: “If you need to have a chat, day or night, ring me any time.” It was lovely, so unexpected, it set me off crying.
