Withington Road in Whalley Range has been closed whilst officers deal with the incident. Police said they were first called over the concerns of the welfare of a man shortly before 6pm today (Friday). Trained negotiators have been dispatched to the scene the Manchester Evening News understands. Withington Road is currently closed close to the junction with Yarburgh Street.
