Riverdale star KJ Apa says Luke Perry’s death ‘changed everything’ for him and he was ‘blessed’ to know him

Riverdale’s KJ Apa has opened up about Luke Perry’s death and admits losing his co-star ‘changed everything’ for him. Luke had starred in Riverdale alongside KJ and played his character Archie’s onscreen dad Fred.

The show was forced to write out Luke’s character after he died aged 52 in March 2019 after suffering a stroke. Riverdale dedicated all future episodes to the actor and the show then paid tribute to Luke in a heartbreaking farewell episode for its season four premiere, that featured a guest appearance from Luke’s Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty.

Speaking about Luke in a new interview with Mr Porter, KJ said that last year the ‘hardest year’ of his life. ‘It changed everything when Luke passed.
