Rishi Sunak has shown that he paid over £500,000 in UK tax last year. He shared this information on Friday when Parliament was not meeting.

He paid £508,308 in tax for the year 2022-23. Mr Sunak earned almost £1.8 million from selling things like shares more than the £1.6 million he made the year before and got £293,407 from other money like interest and dividends. He also got £139,477 from his jobs as a minister and the Prime Minister, which is much less than what he made from investments.

Instead of showing all his tax details, No 10 shared "a summary" of Mr Sunak's UK income, gains from selling things, and the tax he paid, which was made by Evelyn Partners, an accountancy service.
