Rio Ferdinand has praised Manchester United starlet Anthony Elanga for seizing the initiative during his early days with the first-team squad.
Having progressed through the famed Old Trafford academy, Swedish teenager Elanga made his debut last season and has been handed plenty of opportunities by Ralf Rangnick in recent months.
It was Elanga who added gloss to the score during a dramatic victory over Leeds United on Sunday afternoon. The 19-year-old had been struck by an object thrown from the hostile Elland Road crowd, but regained his composure to make it 4-2 during the dying embers of the game.
That was his third senior goal for United and each of them have come away from Old Trafford. And, according to Ferdinand, that itself speaks volumes for Elanga's character as he moved to pinpoint further qualities that the Sweden U21 international possesses.
