Riku Danzaki is set to jet into Scotland in the next 24 hours as he nears a move to Motherwell. The Steelmen have agreed a deal to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent deal from Consadole Sapporo as Steven Hammell looks to lead the Lanarkshire outfit away from the Scottish Premiership relegation zone.
Danzaki had been on loan at Brisbane Roar but that deal has been cut short to allow the playmaker to travel to Fir Park for a medical and to sign his contract.
Danzaki can play in a number of positions across the frontline centrally and wide arrives in the country after his move was brokered by Joshua King Dada of Double Diamond Sports.
The striker was Brisbane’s top scorer in his first spell in the A-League and boss Hammell will be looking for him to bring a similar cutting edge to his Motherwell team with his side struggling for form since the end of the winter break.He admitted after the weekend Scottish Cup win over Arbroath that he was still looking to bring a player in but didn’t want to comment as he was at another club.
