Ricky Dene Gervais (born 25 June 1961) is an English stand-up comedian, actor, writer, film producer, director and musician. He is perhaps best known for creating, writing and acting in the British television series The Office (2001–2003). He has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and the Rose d'Or twice (2006 and 2019), as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. Ricky Gervais has addressed After Life's latest conspiracy theory and set the record straight to confused fans. The show writer and director, 58, responded to intrigued viewers of the Netflix show who believe Anne, the lady in the graveyard, is a ghost.

The actor confirmed the character, who is played by Penelope Wilton, is in fact not a ghost on the dark comedy series. Ricky, who admitted he's a huge fan of the theory, explained: "No, she's not.

I love that conspiracy theory and it could happen." But the comedian revealed it would never occur in After Life, adding: "Not in one of my things.
