Comedian Ricky Gervais on Thursday announced “Ricky Gervais: Mortality“,” a tour he’ll head out on later this year, which will run through the end of 2025 and culminate in a new special for Netflix.
The special will be Gervais’ fourth for the streamer, on the heels of Armageddon, Humanity and SuperNature. Released last year, Armageddon was No.
1 on Netflix’s most-watched list for a period, earning him the inaugural Golden Globe recognizing stand-up comics. That special came on the heels of a record-breaking international tour, which saw him sell out 85 arena dates and set a Guinness world record at the Hollywood Bowl with the highest-grossing stand-up performance in history.
In a statement on his new tour, Gervais said, “We’re all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life.
