Richard Madeley has praised 'brave' Holly Willoughby after she quit This Morning after 14 years on Tuesday, October 10, but he insisted 'she'll be back'.

Holly made announcement of her departure via a statement on Instagram, less than a week after the news that a 36 year old man had been arrested and charged after police discovered an alleged plot to 'kidnap and murder' her.The 42 year old mum of three had been on indefinite leave since being pulled off-air last minute on Thursday, 5 October.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today, Wednesday 11 October, Richard, 67, who previously hosted This Morning with his wife Judy Finnegan, 75, from its inception in 1998 until 2001, praised Holly for her 'brave' decision to leave the show.

He said: "I think - and Judy agrees with me, we were talking about this when we heard the news yesterday afternoon - that Holly's done a very brave and wise and courageous thing. "We know, here in the building - because the This Morning studio is just a few yards away through the bricks - we know that Holly puts family first and her career second, and that really is the order." He went on: "Now people watching don't know that, they just see Holly the professional, but she does put it first.
