Fetty Wap has pleaded guilty to one federal count of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances, according to reports in the Associated Press and the New York Daily News.

The plea carries a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 40, Rolling Stone reports. In October 2021, Fetty Wap (born Willie Junior Maxwell II) was one of six individuals arrested prior to his performance at Rolling Loud New York.

The Eastern District of New York alleged in a statement that Maxwell and his associates “distributed more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine across Long Island and New Jersey” with Fetty Wap himself named as "a kilogram-level redistributor for the trafficking organization." Had Fetty Wap taken the case to trial, he was facing up to life in prison.
