Repeat offender awaits sentence after being found with stun gun for second time

A man has been caught carrying a stun gun for a second time.Joshua Miller is in custody awaiting sentence after a Sheriff said he had to treat his explanation for having the prohibited weapon with "scepticism".Miller, a prisoner, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.

One of his friends had obtained it and left it at my client's accommodation."He was taking it with him to his new address. It was something he should not have had."Sheriff John Speir noted that Miller has an identical stun gun conviction on his record, adding: "On the face of it, this explanation requires to be treated with some scepticism."The Sheriff deferred sentence until next month for a criminal justice social work report and an electronic tagging assessment.
