Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.

He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

'Reflective' Queen to remember Philip 'in private' on anniversary of his passing

The Queen is expected to mark the first anniversary of her beloved husband Prince Philip "reflecting" in private, a royal expert has told us.

Queen Elizabeth, 95, undoubtedly suffered heartache as her strength and stay, to whom she had been married to for 73 years, passed away age 99 on 9 April 2021.

As the first anniversary of Philip's passing is upon us, royal expert Grant Harold tells OK! how the Queen will be spending the undoubtably emotional day for the monarch.

Grant, who was Prince Charles' butler from 2004 to 2011, says: "I've no doubt she will spend the days reflecting." "Princess Margaret, her mother and, of course, Prince Philip.There's her children, but that's a different generation." The Queen, by Grant's account is "very religious" and is expected to visit St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the late Duke of Edinburgh is buried alongside other members of the Royal Family. "She's very religious so I think she would put her thought and time, if she can, and go to church on those occasions because St George's Chapel within Windsor and it's not too far," Grant explains.
