Rebekah Vardy storms out of Wagatha Christie trial after 'destroying evidence' accusation

Rebekah Vardy's ex husband Steve Clarke has denied claims he "forced" her to do the kiss-and-tell interview on Peter Andre. Rebekah, 40, spilled on her one night stand with the Mysterious Girl singer, 49, in an interview with the News of the World in 2004.The alleged fling is said to have happened two years before the interview.The star claimed Peter's manhood was "like a miniature chipolata" in the scathing interview, which has resurfaced amid her libel trial against Coleen Rooney. Peter has since said the claims have been "debilitating" on him and his kids have even questioned him on the reports.

It is something that I deeply regret.’At the time, Vardy was in a relationship with her boss at a timeshare company, Steve Clarke, who later went on to become her second husband. However, Clarke has vehemently denied having any involvement in setting up the interview or pushing Vardy to do so. ‘Becky said to me, “Oh look, I should tell them about Peter Andre”,’ Clarke told the Mail On Sunday, recalling the moment Vardy saw a News of the World request looking for people with stories about contestants in an upcoming series of I’m A Celeb. He continued: ‘I asked her why she would want to do that and she replied that it would be a bit of money for her and it would be funny.

Vardy walked out of the Wagatha High Court case on Thursday - the penultimate day of the trial - after Rooney's lawyer claimed she "destroyed evidence".

Rebekah Vardy could be entitled to a "substantial damages award" for the harm caused to her reputation by Coleen Rooney's Wagatha Christie tweet.
