Reality TV star shock as she's diagnosed with cancer - while three months pregnant
ok.co.ukLove Is Blind star Shaina Hurley has bravely shared her cancer diagnosis story while she was three months pregnant.The 34 year old reality TV favourite, who now has a seven-month-old son named Yiorgos with her husband Christos Lardakis, was diagnosed with stage two cervical cancer after an abnormal pap smear.
Despite doctors recommending a procedure that could potentially cause a miscarriage, Shaina decided against it as it involved removing tissue from the cervix.
She also turned down laparoscopic surgery, chemotherapy and early delivery at 32 weeks, choosing instead to carry her baby until 37.5 weeks.
Little Yiorgos was born healthy via C-section. Speaking to People, Shaina revealed: "I had no symptoms. But later, the doctor called me and said the pap smear results had come back as abnormal and they needed to get me in for a colposcopy.The problem is, I was pregnant. [The] cervix is what holds pregnancy.
