Don't miss out on the big stories from Manchester's courts with our weekly newsletter Rapper Bugzy Malone told a jury he was ‘scared’ when his ‘hysterical’ girlfriend called him to say men were breaking into his home - and punched them as a ‘reflex’.

The grime star - real name Aaron Davies - broke two men’s jaws during a confrontation outside his former home in Ramsbottom, in Bury, a trial has been told.

Mr Davies, 30, told a court one man ‘lunged’ at him, while another made a ‘sharp movement’ in his direction with a clenched fist during the incident on September 9, 2018.

Prosecutors say the defendant was ‘very angry’ when he lashed out unprovoked in 'retribution' after wrongly believing the men were the intruders.
