Ranir Chowdhry has died at the age of 64. The actor rose to fame in Bollywood movies but enjoyed a return to the spotlight in recent years thanks to his role as Vikram in The Office and several other hit TV shows.
According to TMZ, Chowdry died in a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday after suffering a ruptured ulcer in his intestine. Theatre actor Dolly Thakore said that Chowdry was left unable to return to his New York home after travelling to India for dental treatment shortly before the lockdown came into place.
He is survived by his wife and son. Chowdry made a name for himself starring in a string of Indian comedies in the 70s and 80s before moving to Hollywood to further his career.
