Kai Kennedy hopes his loan spell at Hamilton is the one that heralds a real breakthrough into the Rangers first team. The 19-year-old joined Accies earlier this month after playing the first part of the season on loan at Dunfermline and made his debut against his old side in a 1-0 defeat on January 15.
He has had to get used to spells away from Ibrox as he continues his development. Last season he started out on loan at fellow Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle before dropping down to League One for a spell at Raith Rovers.
Kennedy is under contract at Rangers until the summer of 2023 and he is now aiming to impress at Accies in a bid to add to his soliatry first team appearance for the Ibrox side in January 2020 against Stranraer.
The attacker is determined to catch the eye of new Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst, who has shown he is keen to give youth a chance following 18-year-old Alex Lowry’s impressive debut for the Ibrox side in last Friday’s Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion.
