Rangers are on the trail of Bulgarian international winger Kiril Despodov, according to reports in the player’s homeland. And Algerian international Ahmed Kendouci has slapped in a transfer request to force through a move after he was linked to both the Ibrox side and rivals Celtic.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst hinted there is more to come from the champions before the current window closes. The Dutchman said: "We will have to wait and see what else develops in the transfer window in the coming weeks.” A winger appears to be the priority with midfielder James Sands already recruited and defender John Souttar, albeit the Hearts man is on a pre-contract and won’t arrive until the summer unless a deal can be thrashed out.
Despodov is the latest name to emerge after the 25-year-old was linked by Bulgarian news outlet Tema Sport. Formerly of Italian Serie A side Cagliari, he is currently back in Bulgaria with Ludogorets where he has netted 10 times in 31 appearances this season.
Despodov has been capped 26 times by Bulgaria, netting three goals, and Turkish sides Istanbul Basaksehir and Galatasaray, as well as Olympiakos in Greece, have also been linked with him.Meanwhile, Algerian midfielder Kendouci, 22, has two years left of his deal at homeland club Entente de Setif and is valued at around £1 million after an excellent season for his team.
