Cyriel Dessers kept Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title hunt with yet another vital goal as his header took his tally to 20 for the season and earned a desperately needed 2-1 victory over St Mirren in the first post-split fixture of the season.

Philippe Clement’s ended their winless league run which was looking like being extended to four games when James Bolton’s own goal was cancelled out by the impressive Mikael Mandron but Dessers headed home to settle the nerves and go level on points with Celtic at the summit before the champions later game at Dundee.
