Rangers legend Ally McCoist will not be entering the I'm A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here jungle after getting cold feet about taking part on the ITV show for the third time.
ITV bosses have now secured a top-tier replacement for the Scots football icon as another sportsman is set to take his place.
McCoist had been heavily rumoured to be making his debut in the jungle with the ITV show due to return to screens later this month.
After rejecting an invitation on Ant and Dec's show back in 2019 and 2022, bosses were hopeful the Rangers star would accept the offer this time around but it seems it was not meant to be.Speaking on TalkSPORT Breakfast last month, McCoist was asked by Jeff Stelling about whether his rumoured jungle appearance was true with the 62-year-old replying: "No – there’s your answer."Irish boxing legend and Mirror sports columnist Barry McGuigan will now take his place with the switch-up coming just in time as celebs make their final decisions in the run-up to the show's launch.A source remarked: "Barry is a bona-fide sporting legend and he's a great person to have heading for the jungle.
