Ticketless Rangers fans could watch their team’s bid to win the Europa League from the stadium where Celtic’s shot at glory fell at the final hurdle in 2003. Record Sport understands authorities in Seville are considering showing the Rangers vs Eintracht Frankfurt clash on giant screens in the Estadio La Cartuja, where Martin O’Neill ’s side lost 3-2 to Porto in the UEFA Cup Final.

Civic leaders in the Spanish city are concerned with reports that as many as 100,000 Gers fans will be joined by 60,000 German supporters in Seville ahead of Wednesday’s clash in the 43,000-capacity Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium. The Gers punters are now being charged as much as £10,000 for tickets as prices spiral.A massive fanzone is being planned in the city centre but there are moves in the pipeline to ease the strain on resources on the night of the match by beaming the game into Seville’s other major sporting arena on the outskirts of town. That could funnel tens of thousands away from central areas.A Spanish source said: “We know there are going to more fans without tickets than with tickets for this match and a lot of conversations have taken place about how to deal with the situation.“Nothing has been decided, but one possibility is opening up La Cartuja and showing the match on giant screens.”Meanwhile, supporters face being ripped off if they fail to land a ticket through official channels.

The Ibrox club were allocated 9,500 tickets - down from an initial 10,000 - from a total of 33,000 handed to supporters at the stadium.

But with that allocation already sold out, the cost of attending one of the biggest fixtures in the club’s history continues to climb.Incredibly, a set of four are being sold for £10k each on online marketplace
