Political leaders have sent their commiserations to Rangers after they lost on penalties in the Europa League final to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Govan side lost 5-4 on pens after Aaron Ramsay saw his spot kick saved by the Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp. Leaders from all sides paid tribute to Rangers for reaching the final in Seville after they beat Braga, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund on the way.
Former First Minister Alex Salmond said it was the "cruellest way" to lose a final. He tweeted: "The cruellest way to lose an epic match between two fine sides.
This Rangers team still did themselves, their fans and Scotland proud." While, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said: "What a tremendous effort by @RangersFC!!
