Railway bridge upgrade to begin in Thorntonhall as part of EK Enhancement project

Network Rail is to upgrade the railway bridge on Thorntonhall's Peel Road from Saturday, October 5.Engineers will raise the parapets (side walls) during the next five weeks, with the work - part of the East Kilbride Enhancement project - due to be completed by Friday, November 8.For the duration of the works and to allow them to take place in the safest way, the road at the bridge will close to all vehicles and pedestrians every night between 8pm and 8am.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
