After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Radio 1's Big Weekend is back on - online at least. The festival was due to be held in Dundee over the late May bank holiday weekend, headlined by Dua Lipa and Harry Styles.

But organisers pulled the plug on the event in March, shortly before the lockdown was ordered. Now they've announced it will be going ahead as a virtual event instead.

Anne Marie, Biffy Clyro, Rita Ora, Sam Smith, Young T & Bugsey are among the acts who'll be performing brand new sets especially for the festival. 'Many more' acts will also be announced soon across five virtual stages, including the Radio 1 Stage, Radio 1 Dance Stage, 1Xtra Stage and BBC Introducing Stage.
