New ITV drama Quiz is set to revisit the story of Major Charles Ingram and his plot to cheat his way to the jackpot on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?.

The 'cough-gate' scandal became headline news back in 2001, when Ingram bagged the £1million prize but was later convicted of cheating telly bosses out of the money.

The allegations focused on a plot involving his wife Diana, and fellow contestant Tecwen Whittock - who were accused of coughing when the right answers were read out to tell Ingram which one to pick.

Now the story looks to captivate the nation once again in James Graham's new ITV show, starring Matthew Macfadyen, Michael Sheen and Helen McCrory.
