The Queen has given two historical addresses in the past few months, the first on the coronavirus pandemic and the second to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

During her 68-year reign the Monarch has only spoken to the nation in this way a handful of times, at some of the world's darkest moments.

And there was another address that was prepared and ready to go, but thankfully she never had to give it. In 1983, the Queen and her aides wrote a speech in preparation for a potential Cold War attack.
