The Queen has returned to her royal duties nine days after testing positive for Covid-19, Buckingham Palace have confirmed. Her Majesty, 95, felt well enough to speak to foreign diplomates after postponing a number of engagements last week.

One Tuesday 1 March, the 95 year old received two audiences from His Excellency Mr Carles Jordana Madero and His Excellency Mr Kedella Younous Hamidi.

Royal editor Chris Ship said the engagements were "a sign she’s very much on the mend". While, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said it was "plendid news that indicates she has recovered from Covid".

Another royal expert Phil Dampier, tweeted the Queen was "seemingly a lot better", and added: "What a woman." It comes after Queen Elizabeth cancelled similar engagements last week while suffering "mild cold-like symptoms".
