Denmark's Queen has officially stripped four of her grandchildren of their royal titles, the Danish royal household has confirmed.

Queen Margrethe, 82, removed prince and princess titles from Nikolai, 23, Felix, 20, Henrik, 13, and Athena, ten. A statement on Wednesday announced by the Danish royal household said that Queen Margrethe hopes the changes will allow the siblings to "shape their own lives" by giving them more freedom.The children of Prince Joachim, her second son, will will no longer be referred to as His or Her Highness, but instead be referred to as His Excellency Count of Monpezat or Her Excellency Countess of Monpezat starting on January 1, 2023.
