The Queen was “delighted” after her granddaughter Princess Eugenie today gave birth to a baby boy, Buckingham Palace announced.
Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their son, who weighed 8lbs 1oz at 8.55am. In a touching Instagram post the proud parents uploaded a black-and-white image of their hands cradling the tiny fingers and wrist of their new baby.
The image received more than 100,000 likes a few minutes after going online. The baby - whose name has not yet been announced - is Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank's first child - as well as the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's ninth great-grandchild.
