Now, it seems that the father and eldest son have mended their relationship, thanks in part to Kate Middleton, the Mirror reports.However, a new royal book suggests that the heir to the throne didn't always show respect to his father, especially when he was still the Prince of Wales.In his latest book, Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography, author Robert Jobson details how Queen Camilla would often subtly remind William of the hierarchy when she felt he wasn't respecting his father.

In one instance, the author alleges that William and Kate had once asked to join Charles and Camilla's security convoy leaving Windsor Castle - but ended up keeping the older royals waiting.

The book recounts: "When Charles was kept waiting several minutes for the couple, Camilla insisted they go without them. As William and Catherine emerged, all they could see were the blue flashing lights of the motorbikes disappearing in the distance." The bond between Prince William and his stepmother Camilla is believed to have been complex, particularly in the early days.
