Hazel O'Connor's brother Neil has revealed the 80s punk star was rushed to hospital on 9 January after a "serious medical event".
The 66 year old Eighth Day hitmaker was found in her home and taken to hospital, where she put into an induced coma for 24 hours while doctors determined her condition.
Taking to her Facebook page, Neil told her 49,000 followers: "This is an important announcement about my darling sister, Singer, Songwriter and Actor, Hazel O’Connor. "On Sunday last, 9/01/2022, Hazel was discovered at her place in SW France and was found to have suffered a serious medical event Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter.

"She was taken to her local hospital where it was determined that she’d had a bleeding on the brain and that she should be transferred to a major hospital where her condition could more effectively monitored." After a "touch and go" period, Neil explained that his sister was showing progress by responding to the "stimuli and treatment" given by doctors, but admitted her "recovery is going to take a while".
