Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Much scrutiny has understandably been placed on Manchester United’s midfield following the club’s poor start to the Premier League season, but the side has also had a real problem in finding the back of the net.
It is no secret that this United team lack a quality number nine. Marcus Rashford has had to fill up the gap left by new signing Rasmus Hojlund’s injury with little to no effect.
The English forward looks much more comfortable on the left-hand side of the front three and has spoken before about his difficulties in the centre-forward position.
Anthony Martial's injury worries have continued with the Frenchman only appearing for the last five minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and missing the Premier League opener against Wolves entirely.
