A prolific shoplifter who wore disguises when targeting stores has been banned from shops.Serial offender, Tanya Liddle has plagued a UK region for decades and has been arrested almost 400 times.
Over the years, the 43-year-old has totted up 171 convictions on her record, the vast majority of which are for shoplifting.The Newcastle criminal has swept across the North East of England.
On April 24, this year she snatched £1,500 worth of bags before leaving without paying or speaking to staff. Due to her repeat offending, officers with Newcastle North West Neighbour Policing Team applied for a civil injunction against Liddle, which was granted on Thursday in a hearing at Newcastle Civil Court.The order is the strictest issued by Northumbria Police force.
As a result, Liddle will now be prevented from entering any retail premises in the region, with the exception of a pharmacy, a supermarket and a clothing retailer.
