A prolific shoplifter who stole booze and sweets from Aldi and Morrisons supermarkets has been locked up. Simon Ferguson targeted the Morrisons in Parbold and an Aldi store in Skelmersdale, Lancashire Police said.
The 34-year-old stole a bottle of alcohol and confectionary items. Officers, who described Ferguson as a 'prolific' thief, arrested him on suspicion of two counts of theft from a shop.

PC Chris Hammill, from West Lancashire Police, said: "This is a really positive result which will hopefully provide reassurance that we take this crime very seriously and will continue to work closely with our partners to ensure that shoplifters are brought to justice."
