The former athlete, from Gee Cross in Hyde, passed away on May 23, aged 82. The hearse will set off from his home in Joel Lane at 2.50pm and make its way to Dukinfinfield Town Hall.
There, at about 3.25pm, Tameside mayor councillor Leigh Drennan will lead other dignitaries in a minute's silence. The the runners will then join the procession as it proceeds to Dukinfield Crematorium for a private family funeral at 4pm.
