A probe has been launched after a woman was the victim of serious sexual assault in a wooded area near a Scots nightclub. Police are investigating the assault, which happened near Caskieberran Road, opposite the junction with Cromarty Road, in Glenrothes, Fife, at 1am on Saturday, April 30.
The 39-year-old victim had been in woodland close to the venue, Styx, before the incident took place.While inquiries remain ongoing, officers are looking to speak to the drivers and occupants of two cars seen in the area at the time of the attack.
Detectives believe they hold vital information about the incident.The first vehicle is described as a silver/grey saloon taxi that was seen being driven from the Tanshall roundabout onto Caskieberran Road.
It stopped for a short time near to the junction with Cromarty Court. It then moved outside Styx nightclub and picked up four men before leaving the area.
