Prisoner awaiting murder trial at Strangeways found hanged after saying 'he could see visions of victim's face'

Simon Mellors was on remand at HMP Manchester when he died in his cell on 25 February, 2018, a coroner's court heard today. He was aged 56 and had recently been transferred to Strangeways from HMP Nottingham.

Manchester Coroner's Court heard Mellors was put on the healthcare wing because he suffered a fractured spine in a car crash in January 2018.
