A prison officer has been charged with the murder of a man who was found dead on his 40th birthday. James Johnson, 28, is accused of murdering David Toulson, 40, in Salford on Saturday evening (June 25).
Emergency services were called to a block of flats in Adelphi Street just before 5.30pm. They were initially called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man.

The Manchester Evening News understands that Johnson is employed as a prison guard at HMP Forest Bank in Salford, but was recently suspended from his duties.
