The tapes were obtained by ABC News and were from Diana's interviews in the 1990s for her biographer Andrew Morton, who went on to publish Diana: Her True Story.
The clips, which are set to appear in an upcoming documentary, have been released in the US just days after the 26th anniversary of Diana's death.
In the audio, the late Princess of Wales recalled a story from Prince Harry's christening when her mother told off her then-husband, Prince Charles.
