Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.

He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

Princess Diana's wedding dress designer was 'horrified' when she saw gown on big day

Princess Diana’s wedding dress designer Elizabeth Emanuel was “horrified” with how the late royal’s wedding dress turned out.

Diana wed now-King Charles in 1981 when the former Princess of Wales was just 20 years old. Her gown was said to have been worth an eye-watering £9,000 and included a whopping six different fabrics and 10,000 pearls.

Despite all the hard work that went into Diana’s dress, Elizabeth admitted she “felt faint” when she saw frock on the Princess of Wales’ big day.

Recalling the moment, designer Elizabeth said in appearance on ITV's Invitation to the Royal Wedding in 2018, as per Mirror Online: “We did know it would crease a bit but when I saw her arrive at St Paul's and we saw the creasing I actually felt faint. "I was horrified, really, because it was quite a lot of creasing.
