Princess Diana's niece met her now fiancé at the University of Cape Town and the pair have been together for around a decade.
Amelia is one of her father Charles Spencer's seven children. Mr Mallett announced the news on Instagram just days after celebrating his 30th birthday.
In a series of four photos he and 28-year-old Amelia, showed off their huge smiles and even bigger diamond ring in one and kissed at sunset in another.
