Prince William will be "furious" about Netflix portraying him in the sixth series of The Crown during the most traumatic time of his life, royal expert Duncan Larcombe has told OK!

The royal drama’s casting associate, Kate Bone, put out casting call for two young actors to join the next series of the show – saying they will consider actors between the ages of 16 and 21 for Prince William and actors between 16 and 20 for Prince Harry.

Prince William was 16 years old when his mother, Diana, died in a car crash, while Harry was 12. While the fifth series of the show is set to show very young versions of the brothers, Netflix has yet to confirm what their plans are for the teenage years of Harry and William will be.

According to royal author and expert Duncan Larcombe, Prince William will be upset at the thought of someone being cast to play him at such a tender time in his life and that it has now "become personal" for the 39-year-old.
