Prince William and Kate Middleton are known to share behind-the-scenes snaps from their royal engagements on social media and their latest reveal shows a rare snap of the prince with a very personal belonging.

Despite being royalty, the Prince of Wales, 41, is very much like your everyday person in more ways than people think. The snap shows him travelling to Cardiff on the train with his personalised folder of notes and his iPhone sitting on the tray table in front of him.

The caption read: "En route to Cardiff to celebrate seaweed innovation!", with the Welsh translation underneath it, HELLO! reports.

The Royal Family are very rarely pictured with their personal phones on public engagements but have been spotted taking pictures on their devices during their free time or at major events like the London 2012 Olympics. The rules around royals not being allowed to take selfies with members of the public also seem to have been relaxed in recent times with William and Kate often posing for snaps with fans during walkabouts.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
