In a touching move towards mending ties with his brother, Prince William has mentioned Prince Harry by name for the first time in what is believed to be six years.The Prince of Wales referenced his younger brother when talking about their mother, Princess Diana, in a heartfelt documentary.The ITV documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, features William recalling the impactful experience when Diana took him and Harry to a homeless shelter in London to show them life beyond Royal privilege.
He shared: "My mother took me to the Passage, she took Harry and I both there... I must have been about 11, I think probably at the time, maybe 10.
I'd never been to anything like that before, and I was a bit anxious as to what to expect." The documentary includes rare images of young William and Diana at The Passage shelter in Westminster, capturing moments like William engaging in a game of chess with a homeless man on June 14, 1993, shortly before his 11th birthday.
Another showed him dressed smartly, distributing gifts with his mother in December of the same year, reports the Mirror. William fondly remembered how Diana made everyone feel at ease, saying: "My mother went about her usual part of making everyone feel relaxed and having a laugh and joking with everyone." He also reflected on his youthful misconceptions, admitting: "I remember at the time kind of thinking, 'well, if everyone's not got a home, they're all going to be really sad'.
