Prince William joked about Paddington bear knocking the Queen's beloved pets "off top spot" as he kept things light with mourners in Sandringham.The royals have this week been meeting well-wishers who have gathered to pay tribute to William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.The new Prince of Wales and Princess of Wales, both 40, were met by huge crowds of fans delighted at the estate's historic Norwich Gates on Thursday afternoon.
William spoke to one fan when he saw that her baby was wearing a Paddington Bear top and commented on the character's popularity following the Queen's sketch with him during her Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in June.
The Prince said with a smile: "I was saying, I think Paddington might have knocked the Corgi off the top spot now.The Corgis won't take that very well." All the things that they are doing for everyone is just so nice." She also said the Prince and Princess of Wales were "nice and genuine people".
