Prince Harry is feeling the heat from his wife Meghan Markle to mend ties with the Royal Family for business reasons, a royal expert claims.Since their move to America, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have distanced themselves from the royals yet they continue to use their royal titles for charity work and business ventures.Speaking to The Mirror, Royal expert and author Tom Quinn said: "Harry is under pressure to keep some sort of relationship with his family going if only for the sake of the couples' new ventures."Harry still has vague hopes that he will be forgiven and will be offered a minor role somewhere." Quinn also drew parallels between the Sussexes and Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.
Edward's plan to marry Wallis led to a constitutional crisis and his abdication, the Mirror reports. After tying the knot in France, they were "desperately unhappy", according to Quinn.
He added: "Even Edward VIII, after the abdication, was given a few minor roles. And Harry will be aware of that."Mr Quinn spoke about Meghan and Harry, saying that when they get older and their marriage cools down, "there's a real danger that Harry will feel lost just as Edward VIII felt lost when things had cooled with Mrs Simpson".He added: "That's the point at which Harry will really make huge efforts to build bridges with his brother and be allowed to be the part-time Royal (with Meghan) that he wants to be.
But if palace officials have their way, it will never happen."Harry and Meghan can come back to the UK whenever they want, unlike Edward VII and his wife, but since they moved across the pond, they've only returned a few times.
