Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Prince Harry touched down in the UK on 7 May for a brief two-day trip packed full of events in connection to the Invictus Games' 10th anniversary.The Duke of Sussex made the trip from California without wife Meghan Markle, who he will reunite with on 9 May as they head to Nigeria together.

Harry, 39, attended an event in London on Wednesday (8 May) morning, and upon exiting he waved to crowds. A waiting cameraman then took the opportunity to ask him: "Are you happy to be home?" Laughing, Harry quickly responded: "Nice to see you," before hopping into the back of a Range Rover.

Despite being just miles away from his father King Charles, it has been confirmed Harry won't be meeting up with his dad while in the UK.The Duke's spokesman confirmed that his dad had made him aware that he did not have time to meet up.

Harry's representative said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. “The Duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.” Buckingham Palace did not release a statement.
